the story so far...

1994 - 2004a baby boy is born in busan, south korea. his mother, an art teacher, raises him by herself. when he's old enough to understand, he learns his father is dead. he will never mourn this man, but wonders why his mother never talks about him.his mother is offered a teaching job in the states too good to turn down. yunseo is ten when he first boards a plane, too busy dealing with his ears plugging at high altitudes to worry about the future.2009 - 2012yunseo was a small, insignificant korean kid who kept to himself at the private school his immigrant mother taught at. in short, he was the perfect target for rich bullies with unearned confidence and parents who donated massive sums to the school to get a power trip on.some days he'd go home bloodied and bruised beneath his uniform, bandaging himself up and hastily scrubbing the stains from his clothes in the bathroom sink before his mother came back home.for a long time, he took whatever was doled out to him in silence. graduation would come and this would all be over. yunseo kept his head down.until he reached his breaking point.for fun, his tormentors decided to get his mother fired from her job with flimsy lies and a fabricated sex tape that spread too quickly for anyone to put a stop to.they would pay.2013 - 2014senior year. he had nothing to lose. so he planned.fighting wasn't an option when a single scratch on his bullies would get him expelled from the school in a flash. so yunseo started with small things to test the waters. a misplaced phone charger, textbooks from tightly zipped backpacks, pencils that they were absolutely sure were in their pockets just a second ago. things that someone with that much money wouldn't bat an eyelash at.little by little, he escalated. the things he stole increased in value, yes, but what was more important to yunseo was how precious they were to their owners. at some point, it stopped being about revenge and more about how thrilling it all was.how far could he go? how much could he devastate them? how could he do it with as much showmanship as possible?the attention this anonymous thief got from around the school was absolutely priceless.eventually, he was expelled. he knew it was only a matter of time before his victims got a hunch and ended up getting their parents involved, even without any solid evidence that yunseo was the one to blame. yunseo was relieved it was over, but his mother saw the beginnings of an inevitable fate for her son, a reflection of his demonic father who he had never known coming more into focus as he crept into adulthood.2014 - 2020he could rightfully say he got his revenge. but he had gotten a taste of something much more dangerous than that.yunseo adopted the persona of arrow fresh out of high school and soon became an international thief-for-hire infamous for his calling card of piercing the most expensive item at the scene of the crime with an arrow, just to put a little extra salt in the wound.everything was coming up yunseo until a mistake nearly cost him everything. it was a slight miscalculation in his plans and usually, he would be able to bounce back from it with some quick thinking. but as he found himself completely surrounded by security measures with an impenetrable wall of cops outside the building ready to pounce on him, there was simply nothing a human could do to get out of the situation.he had to at least try.arrow was good at his job, there was no doubt about it, but nothing about the way he effortlessly slipped past the guards made any sense. and yet, he found his way out on to the rooftop, dropped to the ground from a height that would've certainly killed him, and did all of this while completely undetected like something inhuman. from the looks of the black wings sprouting from his back, he knew he needed to have a conversation with his mother.if yunseo had to sum up his stance on religion before his self-realization, he'd say he was an atheist. nothing shakes up your whole atheist world view quite as much as finding out you're a demon.yunseo knew his father was dead and had been before he could retain any memory of him, but he had never known he had been killed by his own hubris. his father's overconfidence in his powers and immortality made an enemy of a priest willing to shell out the resources to hire someone who knew what they were doing when it came to hunting a demon. all of this was told to him as a warning from his mother about the cost of giving into his base desires.but how can he fight something so innate? he can't help it. there's so much he can do with these gifts now that he knows they're there to perfect. maybe he could take revenge on the murderer who killed his father as a convenient side effect.but even if he did find them, all he'd want is to take whatever's most precious to them . . . and do it in the most spectacular way possible.2021 - presentto be continued...

What made you want to become an artist?"It's just my calling, y'know? I always liked doodling in school when I wasn't supposed to. Drawing's probably one of the only times you can sit me down for a significant amount of time. Also my mom was an amazing artist! She only teaches it now, but she made sure to instill an appreciation for the arts in me pretty early."What kind of work are you best known for?"I guess if I had to choose something, I like doing black and white linework the most?
